Lively nightlife on one side, deserted streets in the shopping districts on the other. Anglers on the Galata Bridge try to catch fish to be eaten in the restaurants in the basement. Everywhere there are stalls selling roasted chestnuts, corn on the cob, fresh pastries and fish. It smells and tastes good and you can lose yourself in the hustle and bustle for a long time.
