Stadtinspektor

Ein wechselhafte Geschichte beherbergt diese Stadt an der Seine. Als Markt im Mittelalter und Haupotstadt der Grafen der Champagne, Kriege, Besetzungen, bis hin zur deutschen Besatzung im 2. Weltkrieg mit schwerwiegenden Folgen für die Bevölkerung. Heute ist sie eine schöne mittelalterliche Stadt, mit engen Gassen, restaurierten Häusern und einer wohnlichen Atmosphäre. Champus geht immer, auch bei Regen und Kirmes sowieso. Katzen soll es viele geben, gesehen haben wir nur eine, auf dem Mülltonne, armes Viech.

This city on the Seine has a chequered history. As a market in the Middle Ages and the capital of the Counts of Champagne, wars, occupations and even the German occupation in the Second World War with serious consequences for the population. Today it is a beautiful medieval town with narrow streets, restored houses and a cosy atmosphere. Champagne is always good, even when it’s raining and there’s a funfair anyway. There are supposed to be lots of cats, but we only saw one, on the rubbish bin, poor creature.
